Kathryn Waring is an essayist and multimedia writer based in Hamilton, Ontario. She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the University of Pittsburgh, where she directed the English Department's Digital Media Lab prior to starting in the PhD program at McMaster University.
​
Her essays and criticism have appeared in The Normal School, Essay Daily, American Literary Review, The Rumpus, and Assay: A Journal of Nonfiction Studies, among others.
​
Kathryn has also served as Assistant Essays Editor of The Rumpus, Editor-in-Chief of Hot Metal Bridge, and Managing Editor of the SUNY-wide literary journal Gandy Dancer.
